Early Childhood Classes: eat the rainbow (July)

In July, we will have two sessions of early childhood enrichment classes; one session will meet on Mondays from 10-11 am on the following dates: July 14, 21, 28, and August 4; the other session will meet on Tuesdays from 10-11 am on the following dates: July 15, 22, 29, August 5.

The theme of these sessions will be Eat the Rainbow! In this joyful four-week series, young children will explore a wide variety of colorful fruits, vegetables, and other foods through hands-on cooking, sensory play, and interactive food prep activities. Each class offers opportunities to practice essential fine motor skills like chopping, scooping, and mixing, while also supporting sensory development, food confidence, and early kitchen independence. By engaging with a rainbow of ingredients in a fun, pressure-free environment, children become more comfortable with new foods, expand their willingness to try unfamiliar tastes, and develop a lifelong curiosity about what’s on their plate.

More generally, 0ur early childhood classes feature multi-sensory exploration, learning, and play. These classes introduce our youngest petit pâtissiers to fresh ingredients and new flavors, as well as kitchen hygiene and safety practices. Together with their chef instructor, students will select and explore ingredients with all our senses. We cook simple recipes that are designed to work on fine motor skills and build confidence in the kitchen, as well as stimulate your child’s curiosity and creativity. At the end of each class, students will enjoy sharing the fruits of their labor with friends and caregivers around the table, practicing socialization skills and watching their grownups model table manners.

One caregiver must be present for each class.
